Would have been more helpful to tell you at the beginning of the week rather than the end, but there seems to be some hostility from the autistic community and I forgot...

Have a hard think about what you've written ^ note the bit I've highlighted.

Sorry, I don't know what you're getting at, but as I understand it, Autism Awareness Week is promoted by people who think that autism is something that should be cured.
Many in the autistic community don't like that idea and I think that that is entirely understandable, but I think it is important that more people are aware of it.
I don't know enough to properly comment.

If that is what they think, then they have singulary failed to get that across.

They have fairly well failed to get any point across as far as I can tell: I only heard about it because I've taken an interest.
But moving on...

Today is apparently National Unicorn Day.

It is International Gin and Tonic Day. It is unclear to me how this differs from every other day of the year.

Presumably you're supposed to keep drinking until the unicorns show up.

I suppose you must find an International Gin, rather than an English one.

It is National Tea Day. I'm going to celebrate with a beer.

.
It's Anzac Day
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_Day

My grandfather was a British army officer with the Imperial Camel Corp with a bunch of Anzacs in north Africa during WW1
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Camel_Corps

There's a family mystery about how he managed to pass the army medical despite losing an eye as a child (coincidentally I also lost his eye as child - playing marbles)
