So you're going to leave the country

A place to sit about and chat between more important things.

So you're going to leave the country

Postby atticus » Fri Jan 12, 2018 1:45 pm

Every now and then someone here assures us that if something (usually political) does not go their way, they will leave the country. While Somalia, Yemen and Crimea are obvious places to which they might relocate, the BBC has published this helpful guide to six nations who "consistently rank highest for their progressive social policies, trust in government and effective justice system".

Perhaps BakersDozen can enlighten us as to his preferred destination when he leaves these shores. Mine would be Denmark.

3.14 will be pleased to see Chile on the list.

I'd say Sweden. Things don't go your way but they tend to swing back over time. So might as well stick it out.
If you can't talk about the problem, how are you ever going to even start talking about the solution?

I wouldn't base any life changing decision on a BBC article. Not sure Attius has either, he really like Denmark anyway.

There a number of forum members who look for arguments and you get an amazing sense of well being by not raising to them (within the said threads). Peace and love

I think you will find that this country will get on your shit list for many issues if you had to live here.

Mexico - friendly people, not too many Americans, fantastic beaches and facilities.. A pension goes a long way.
Isle of Man - briefly, only to purchase toys (cough) I mean business assets.
West coast of France - not sure I could live there all year round, but France is full of beauty and French people are cautiously friendly.
Cowes (or nearby) - property isn't too expensive (relatively) and I'd have an excuse to sail regularly, perhaps just getting to work.
My suggestions are not legal advice
