But the fact is that a landlord can seek to impose such terms.

All of which I could accept if the tenancy conditions were in place at the time it was signed by the tenant. But to install a tenant on an assured tenancy and then, after a number of years, arbitrarily impose further conditions upon lawful activities seems a little unfair to say the least.

All I can suggest is that they approach the housing association and try and resolve it amicably.
