Developing without planning permission...

Postby Russell » Mon Sep 28, 2015 3:40 pm

We are moving soon due to a number of local develops. In fact, the lovely middle of nowhere location we chose to live has become the middle of a number of building sites. There are 3 develops here now, one in our garden, one in next doors garden, and one large develop in the ajoining field which is the only one we have received a consultation on.

However, what is strange is that no one has any planning permission to do anything, yet everyone is clearing and preparing their land for the x amount of houses. Are all of these developers stupid or is there generally an air that developments get planning permission so starting work isn't a risk?

Are you sure? Have you checked with the planning department?

The noun is 'development'.

Yes for sure, there is a local group to fight the main one and the others are not on the radar yet.

Are you saying that ground has not even been broken on these developments? If so, they may be at an early stage, before even applying for planning permission.

Have you and your fellow nimbies looked at how these sites are designated in the Local Plan?

Clearing land need not be an activity requiring planning permission.

Yes I guess I'm jumping the gun a bit here, nothing done involves planning. It's just a shame to see it all go, Deer and lot of wild life live and eat from the fruit trees. I guess if the developments don't go ahead it will be converted into landscaped gardens instead of the semi-wild it was :(

Changing it to landscaped gardens may require planning permission.
