harassment and pin notices

I was not aware that the police no longer serve pin notices, or harassment notices is this correct?

PINs are still valid and are still issued - although they are not always appropriate or mandatory.

thanks. Police told me they do not issue them any longer on advice from home office.

This refers to the HMIC review which recommended that the issuing of PINs stop immediately. But it's at the discretion of the Chief Constable; some forces have and some have not.
