forged signature

Postby jeremy2017 » Thu Feb 22, 2018 10:26 pm

Hi. I'm not really sure if this belongs here. The issue is about a possible "fraud by misrepresentation", in this case forging someone else's signature on a V5 car registration booklet. First things first, is this a civil or criminal matter?
Many thanks!

It could be either or both.

A appears to have dishonestly transferred property belonging to B to C. As well as criminal liability, A may face civil claims by B and/or C.

It oes of course depend also upon what was achieved by means of the signature.
