I had just finished preparing the defence ready to print and post and received a letter from the CPS stating they are discontinuing the charges because there is not enough evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction.

Thank you for all the comments, they have helped one way or another.

Now to send off the costs application.

The Police appeared to have wasted my time and that of the court. What's the best way of "raising hell?"
I have asked the CPS if they are going to prosecute the complainant for perjury but won't hold my breath.
