I prefer Winston Churchill's grandson's analysis of the speech:

NIcholas Soames will undoubtedly be pleased and proud that the bust of his eminent Grandfather has reportedly been replaced in the Oval Office having apparently been removed from there by Barack Obama.

He may; but that won't change his opinion of the new president's nasty bigoted speech.

It is not correct that the bust of Churchill was removed by Barack Obama. The Epstein bust which George W Bush kept there was loaned to him by the British Government for the duration of his Presidency (on Tony Blair's instructions). At the end of his Presidency it was returned, as had always been intended. Every President redecorates the Oval Office to his own taste and chooses his own artwork. Obama chose, inter alia, a bust of Abraham Lincoln. Trump will do this in due course (so it is too soon to be crowing about Churchill's bust being there).

The White House has had a bust of Churchill since the 1960's, which Obama kept where it had always been, in the residence outside the Treaty Room.

The White House issued a debunking of this back in 2012. It is unfortunate that it is still being spread.

To be fair, it is always good to see a peaceful transition of power. One minute the leader of the free world is Barack Obama, the next it's Angela Merkel.

I think it is odd that people can be so against a President who is not even their own president before he has even had a chance to demonstrate his governance.

I would would also point out that there are far worse Presidents. But they get less media coverage so no one is interested in protesting against them!

Maybe because you've been paying attention to the wrong things, and reading too much of the rubbish printed in The Guardian.

The world it is a-changin'. We'd better all embrace the changes - even if some of us don't actually welcome some of them - rather than living in the past.

And if you think that the USA has a bad government after yesterday, Canada I assure you has one that's even worse!

And Europe is going to have a very different political landscape by the end of 2017.

Ha bloody ha.

No. To what Trump has said. About women. About disabled people. About mexicans. About those who cannot afford healthcare. About anyone who has the temerity to disagree with him.
