All this row over whether the impact assessments exist is FAKE NEWS.

After all, any suggestion of a negative impact is the work of PROJECT FEAR. The Brexit Secretary is to be congratulated for not wasting our money on these unnecessary analyses.

Except that he quite clearly told the House that they had been done. This is a little more serious than "the dog ate my homework".

Can he be held in Contempt of Parliament for this and if not, why not?

David Davis has been accused of misleading parliament after he claimed the government had not conducted impact assessments on the economic impact of Brexit - having previously suggested to it had.

Opposition MPs have demanded the Brexit secretary be held in contempt of parliament.

David Davis at the select committee was like someone on a floating platoon. Off to the Tower with him.

David, please don't tell me that you buy that risible argument. What exactly do you say Davis was referring to that he said had been prepared "in excruciating detail".

I have not examiined it in detail, save to listen to teh argument on the Daily Politics yesterday. There appeared to be a genuine difference. Producing something in excruciating detail need not be the same as a sector by sector analysis.

This BBC article has a timeline of what Davis has said. I have read better and more detailed dissections of Davis's comments elsewhere. He has been thoroughly skewered.
