It's a song from the days of the hippies, not a political policy. The deeper and more profound such words are, especially if poetic, the more likely they are to be meaningless bullshit, intended only to seem deep and profound for people incapable of understanding reality. Not you, of course.

A bit like the ubiquitous Heinlein, then.

BTW, I did know the words of the Sound of Silence even without your top quality cutting and pasting, but irony is lost on some people.

Nothing at all like Heinlein, who's arguments can be easily understood, even if not agreed with.
