I have no difficulty with that. I am sure that May has no difficulty with that. It is the EU that appears to be dreaming of a wider responsibility, and the swivel eyes who see none such entireley. And again - the EU position does not acknowledge the assets acquired by it from UK contributions (nor do you). We shall see.

It would not surprise me if the value of EU assets payable to the UK upon exit considerably exceeds the absurd "rabbit out of a hat" figure of £50 bn of alleged liabilities.

Some of the EU assets (its grandiose buildings, etc: as good socialists, they were never exactly cheeseparing in anything they spent other peoples' money on) ) would likely have appreciated substantially over the years, too.
