I do not say it should be a single issue election. Complaints are made (wrongly) that May does not have the authority of the elecorate to act.

Why wrongly? The mandate has been stretched well beyond all credibility.

But back to the question, since Brexit is easily the biggest issue on the table, I think the parties should be put into suspension, and house should reshuffle according to Brexit plan and an election held along those lines. That way we can have the Red, White and Blue Brexit that the Former Home Secretary promised us.

I see the issue...

On one hand we never vote for the PM, but our local MP and that local MP is a member of a party who chooses their leader. So in some ways no PM ever has the mandate of the people to lead, because the people never have a say in the leader. But on the other, most people haven't a clue who their MP is and vote for them because they want one group to be in power and one group not. That is often based on who the leader is. Except for the lib dems who apparently had a very popular leader who nobody voted for. Or was it that their leader was popular among people that think voting is hitting the like button.
