Postby dls » Wed Sep 24, 2014 11:58 am

Throughout the voicemail scandal, and despite complete disbelief from everybody not employed by them (and half of those employed at least) they maintained a hard line 'we do no wrong' speech. It was incredible and dishonest.

It remains dishonest, and the TMG have at last, and with no discernible dignity, admitted that they were in it up to their necks. they have paid out.

Looking for a balancing explanation from teh Daily Mirror, I visited their website. Not a glimmer. I tried again - I searched for apology. Apology came there none.

The Guardian might have it in for them, so here is the BBC

"Why can’t politicians apologise properly? The four rules of how to say sorry
of which numbers one and four are

1) Say sorry when you have done something wrong. ‘Wrong’ can be defined as embarrassing, stupid, offensive, criminal, immoral, hurtful or hypocritical.

and
4) The final and most basic rule of apologies is this: If appropriate, reasonable, and sincere, you will earn brownie points for it. People will regard you as an honest, decent person. With time you might even become one.
