dls, Can you share with us some of your reasons behind the appointment of Smouldering Stoat and 3.14 as your new moderators?

I have not seen any contribution for a while now from Slartibartfast. He is one of the fair and objective forumers in my opinion. Is it possible to let us know if all is well with him?

Slarti is no longer with us.

Two new moderators were appointed to make up the numbers. They are long standing and respected members. Your name was not put forward for consideration.

Meaning on the board. As far as I know he is still alive and well, but I would not claim to be in the loop to hear otherwise.

There was a period of time a few months ago when the board was plagued by Russian spammers. We killed several hundred of them and extra hands were needed. Even now, it's several each week.

Both have shown commitment to the board and knowledge and moderation.

Thanks for that.
Is it possible to provide some understanding as to why Slartibartfast is no more with the forum as stated by atticus?

I believe he grew tired of the mindless bickering.

No, that is not possible. People come, people go. Everyone here is hidden behind a user name.

must be frustrating deleting all the spam - I have to say you do a good job of it, I rarely see many now a days.
