Is there any way of preventing newbies from posting links?

Good idea, but I don't think it can be done. I have just looked at the settings options. I have just done 2 things - see post I am about to write in Board Management.

We're being spammed to death at the moment - morning, noon and night.
It's frustrating...

I do appreciate that you lot seem to be seeing a lot of spammers, but I see very few. Several years ago, I would come to the forum to find a hundred or more spam postings - many pornographic.

It is a pain. I thank you for dealing with them. I deal with them whenever I see them, but you seem to get there first.

I have just deleted more than 20 new registrations. Very questionable names, websites, e-mail addresses. All the hallmarks of the spammers that get through and post before we can zap them.

There are a huge ratio of questionable registrations to spam posts. I would not trouble wit them.

It is possible (from memory) to delete all registrations (say) over three months old but with no posts within phpmyadmin.
