Not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes anyway.

Is there recourse for slipping on Dog Poop on a public footpath causing serious bodily injury requiring surgery?

Perhaps if you can identify the hound and its owner, you may have a claim against the latter.

The only way you could claim against the local authority would be by proving they have acted negligently and/or in breach of statutory duty.

If you can prove that they were scheduled to clean the area yet missed this, or that this were reported to them and they failed to take action; then you MIGHT have a claim but as Atticus says - the chances of success are very slim.

. . and we all have a duty to look where we are going (contributory negligence).
