As I understand it you have three years to make a personal injury claim but I am unsure from when this three years starts. I was injured some months ago but as of yet I have not had any firm diagnosis as to what the problem is. I have a doctors report giving vague suggestions that I am displaying symptoms that might be one particular ailment but this is not the firm diagnosis that I would like. It is merely educated speculation based on my reported symptoms.

Has the three years started from when I was injured a few months ago or has it only begun since the doctor began to suggest that I may be afflicted with a particular condition due to the injury? Or does it only start from when I receive a firm diagnosis?

The 3 years starts from the date the cause of action accrued. This is usually the date of the injury. In your case, you would be safest to work from that date.

No.

Preparing a case is very much better done using the time available. Completing the necessary investigations and obtaining the necessary reports can take many months.

And why wait for your money.

Quite right. I suppose I'm just waiting for a doctors report confirming the ailment and stating what has caused it. Once he's has put it in writing then I was going to get a NWNF Solicitor on board. It wouldn't hurt to make contact now though.
