How do I check for other bankruptcy petitions?

Is a Land charges Bankruptcy search acceptable as proof that you have carried out a Bankruptcy search against a person you are about to issue bankruptcy proceedings against?

No. You need to do a search with the Court where you intend to issue your petition. The best way is to ask the Court to do this and to pay the search fee.

That does not help. First, it does not give details of petitions. Second, it is not a search of the Court system.

I have just looked up the answer (as opposed to relying on the procedure I have followed).

The requirement is spelled out in para 14.3 of the Practice Direction- Insolvency Proceedings:
