The end is nigh. Oops no it wasn't...

This thread 'isn't' about the EU!!!!! Its about anything but the EU.

Change always brings with it calls of doom. In the news this week has been Hong Kong and the handover. Yes its had its problems but its not been anything like was predicted. Another example was the change of rights at arrest, the right to remain silent. This also didn't produce the feared results. So my question is, what change/event has taken place in which the naysayers have been vindicated? I can't think of any....
If you can't talk about the problem, how are you ever going to even start talking about the solution?

Dog attacks are rare now? Thinking back I know there was a lot of problem with people losing dogs. But long-terms its worked hasn't it? In fact it would be good to see Staffs only owned by those 25 and over to stop the dog homes filling up with these poor animals.

And do those things make you think the Act has worked?

A terrible article by the BBC. Giving no real prospective on the impact, as it doesn't cite the vital attacks/deaths before the act. It also fails to distinguish severity of dog bites. Again I wonder why I pay the licence fee :( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-37037799

But going on the opinion cited, yes I'd have to agree that a dog should be judged on its merits, which is normally a reflection of ownership. But how is this practical?
