New Toy

An Italian reproduction of the Sharps 1874 breech loading rifle in 45/70 calibre. A long range rifle with bags of character. It launches a bullet weighing just over an ounce at over 1,000mph! It's a real classic and a great shooting experience. I shall be casting a variety of lead bullets to try out, and occasionally using proper black powder to load in the cartridges. The barrel is slightly shorter than the version of the rifle used in the film 'Quigley Down Under', a film I can recommend to any fan of cowboy films. With Alan Rickman as the baddie, and Tom Selleck making a fair job as the eponymous hero. As usual, the film takes the opportunity to have a dig at the British, but that's Hollywood for you.
