Facebook

Hate the place. Never had an account, never would. As I am the only person I know of who actually feels this way, then that's about as controversial as it gets.

Facebook is no more social networking then hunting for soap in the bath is scuba diving.

If it doesn't suit you, don't use it. It really is as simple as that.

I have an account, but cannot understand the attraction.

Same for Twitter.

I'd never thought of that.

I shall shut down the account I don't have immediately.

I find it narcissistic. An obsession people have with trying to live their lives in public from watching too much reality TV crap and worshipping the god of fame.

Perhaps I am using it wrong. Most of what I get on it is reports of goings on around the world, most of which I have at least some interest, if only in order to laugh at it.

There is a little of that, I agree. However there is also, discussion with old friends across the world, there is news (sometimes news that the media do not report), there are photographs of the wonders of the universe and it's all free.

It's only free in the sense that its users are its product, not its customers.
