WTF is the point of ... ?

A place to sit about and chat between more important things.

... An "n year anniversary"?

No! It is the nth anniversary!

Even worse is n month anniversary, as heard recently on the BBC.

that would depend on the notational form you are applying. There are a few mathematical based forms that would allow it (EBNF for example).

I'm talking about the English language. The one that got my goat yesterday was someone talking about something he called an "eleven year anniversary". What does he think the "anni" part of the word means?

For this purpose, n just means any old number.

I shall regret asking, but what is an EBNF?

Extended Backus–Naur form - a method of illustrating/explaining the syntax rules in "English" language context free, so that the computer doesn't say no when you try to tell it to do something.

WTF is the point of doing push ups/press ups in a Spin Class?

Fitness and stuff, pushing you to your limits, I expect. Stick to walking the dog.

Place your hand on the nearest wall... Do a press-up, now do a proper press-up with your hands on the floor. I bet you can do a 100x more press-ups against a wall than you can normal ones. That is because there is minimal body mass being lifted against the earths gravity. If you do a press-up on a bike its a similar work effort - i.e. its pointless and does nothing for your strength/fitness.

I think you should get off the bike to do those exercises.

How on earth does a person do press ups on a bike?

... Pulling out on a dual carriageway or motorway to pass, but then doing the same speed as the vehicle on the left?

They aren't proper pressups they are just dipping their chest up and down. Spin bikes are big and heavy, they are hard to fall off
