Lets try again. Usually on roundabouts there are road markings. These generally indicate which lanes cars need to be in for which exit. They also indicate who should be giving way to who.

there aren't any lane direction markings, requiring the red car to take the exit, so blue car overtook on the roundabout and passed in front of the red car. Red car was not required to take the exit. Additionally there is only 1 lane from the long green entrance, so if red had joined from there to cross on the 2nd exit, then he's in the right lane and was only obliged to make sure that he gave way when joining the roundabout.

IMO the roundabout needs lane markings.

More than 2 weeks ago, on 18 October, the OP said there would be an exchange of evidence in 2 weeks.

He also said the hearing would be "in about a month", so it must be imminent.

Maybe we can shortly expect an update.

My apologies for not responding sooner.

May I quickly thank all of you for your contributions. It is a pleasure to visit this forum and I dont think enough thanks is given, so anyway thank you.

The case was settled on a 50/50 basis - sanity prevailed!
