No. I am thinking of the Parking Eye case, which concerned payments to be made for breach of contract. You do not get to the point of breach of contract where there is no contract. However, on that question the OP has said there were signs. He is not just talking about yellow paint.

There may be an argument that the effect of the one hour limit is to discriminate against customers with disabilities. Has the OP considered a polite letter, explaining his reasons?

I have already emailed the supermarket asking to speak to someone regarding their parking policy.

Since my original post I have found this
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ter-01.pdf
Section 1.2 mentions that, ....United Kingdom signs are crown copyright and may not be reproduced without permission....
I am meeting with my MP to discuss the car park and others that use signs which are misleading to the motorist, I need as much information as possible to show him the private parking industry has many shortcomings.

The car park belongs to a well known high street supermarket chain.

The OP may also find the following of interest;

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/traffic-sign-images

You may reproduce traffic-sign images free of charge and without having to seek permission, but you must reproduce them accurately and not in a misleading context (eg not on roadside billboards where they could mislead drivers). You should also include a statement that these images are Crown copyright.
