Child injured by dog in 2006

Postby Reco » Tue Dec 08, 2015 11:09 am

The incident happened in Greece. The 8 year od girl needed 150 stiches and still has chest scars.

A case was brought and Mother settling prematurely (eu2000) in behalf of child now nearly 18 years
because she was unable to deal with repeated returns to Greece where the defendant cancelled hearings due to ill health.

I wonder if and how the child can re-open the case in EU law.

What information do I need to elicit from the child's mum.

Thanks in advance for any response

This will surely be a matter of Greek law.

Further information to obtain from mother: Everything; full history; all paperwork.

Correct, you are undoubtedly going to need to consult a Greek lawyer (i.e. a lawyer with expertise in the laws of Greece). This is not within my skill set or, so far as I know, that of anyone else who frequents this place. You may be able to find such a lawyer in London, or another city with a large Greek community.

In England a settlement for a child would need court approval.

As Atti says, we know nowt here as to the law of Greece, but you may have to be very clear as to why you think it should be set aside. Why should damages be at similar levels here and there?
