No, were in agreement given that scenario. However, in those circumstances, I dont follow why a retailer would heavily discount the price. There are some markets where they might - car dealerships perhaps where sales targets have to be met, but generally speaking, retailers sell at list price (as to sell at anything less eats into their margin obviously). They may even have sale or return clauses in their buy-side arrangements to avoid such losses.
