Positive Feedback

Positive Feedback

Is it an offence to leave yourself positive feedback?
If you can't talk about the problem, how are you ever going to even start talking about the solution?

Leave it where, about what, to whom?

For example google reviews, the ones that pertain to companies you can see on google maps. I've noted one company that has left itself a positive review and from the companies google account as well. So Company X says Company X is amazing! Crazy!

It's not illegal for Company X to review itself, as long as it is clear that the review comes from Company X itself.

It would be fraud for Company X to leave a positive review purporting to come from a customer.

Being picky, that would be a review, not feedback.

I was replying to Alex's post in which he refers specifically to a review. I also use the term myself.

It would be a long way from fraud. It might be an advertising standards issue. They'd only have to say they were repeating feedback orally given.

It is not an ASA issue. The ASA regulates advertisements, not online reviews.

There is no reason why it might not be fraud, but I also refer my nautical friend to the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, breach of which can earn you two years pleasuring Her Majesty.

Isn't a fake review an advert?
