Who is responsible for train delay compensation

Who is responsible for train delay compensation

Postby optimist22 » Wed Mar 01, 2017 6:42 pm

I booked a single rail ticket to London through Virgin Train. The train service to London was provided by another network. There was a six hour delay caused by Storm Doris. Virgin appear to think I should seek compensation for the delay from the Company I travelled with. Is this the case ? or is my contract with Virgin ? I do not want to become stuck between two train companies.

Virgin are correct. If you are claiming Delay Repay, you need to claim from the train operator you travelled with. If you chose not to travel, then you can claim a refund from Virgin.
