See

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honours_F ... _Committee
for the details of what is not a very detailed process.

Although Wikipedia may be almost universally accepted as the definitive repository for the sum of human knowledge, the fact that it lacks detail of a process does not indicate that the process itself is not detailed.

What exactly is it that you seek for the process to do, that causes you to so readily reject the established process as inadequate?

Did you actually read the article? It contains some description of the procedure.

Does it describe the procedure in enough depth to judge that the process is not very detailed?

That answer gives the impression that you have not read it. If that is the case, please do so, so that you may judge for yourself.

Oh dear, we are clearly not communicating very well on this thread: you have me wrong again.

But TBH, it matters not to me what the process actually is: why does it matter unless we are likely to be subjected to it or we have reason to suppose that it is deficient.

If it matters not to you what the process is, is all that matters to you that the result is the prompt removal of the knighthood?

What matters is that one who dishonours the honours system is promptly and effectively dealt with. Why, do you suggest the process is not to be trusted?

Atti is not suggesting that the process be distrusted - only that you appear to start with the process assuming its conclusions as a premise.

My original point is that the Select Committee system is not fit for any purpose beyond the self-aggrandisement of its members.

Correct. I make no such suggestion.
