There are plenty of LGBT support groups who will welcome those who classify (and those yet to classify) themselves as transvestites and cross dressers.

LGBT is a well known acronym. Does it need the extra letters?

I think you'll be okay wearing a dress to the interview hairy, as long as you can demonstrate that you recognise issues that come with being a man in a dress.
It's not helpful to just say, "this floaty dress is lovely and airy".

A lot of jobs require experience in the same field of work so I don't think asking for a someone who identifies as transgender is discrimination in this case.
