Business Names Act 1985

Is the Business Names Act 1985 still in force ?. I notice the requirement to state the owner of the
trading name ,such as for example " Fred Bloggs Ltd trading as Fred Bloggs " on any trading website.

If the Act is still in force what would be the consequence of NOT stating the trading name
and instead just saying "Fred Bloggs" ?

Ah ok thanks. I am looking that 2006 Act now but cannot work out the answer as regards that
Act as to whether Corporation needs to state that the name used is its trading name or
not ,on its website. In other words , if Fred Bloggs Ltd needs to make clear that "Fred Bloggs"
is a trading name of Fred Bloggs Ltd , or not ?.

Yes thanks. Ok so if they ONLY state "Fred Bloggs" on the website as the owner and operator
MUST they make clear that that name is a trading name of "Fred Bloggs LIMITED" and with
company number etc ?
