Do you mean the Articles of Association?

Is that really what they say?

Isn't the director also a shareholder?

Can't you find someone with some knowledge to look at these things and help you find a way through?

Yes. The Articles. They state only shareholders and their representatives may receive notices. They specify that no other person is entitled. The directors are shareholders but the Articles read as if only a person in the role of the latter is eligible.

Someone is getting very confused.

If Fred, who is a director and a shareholder, has been served, then Fred the shareholder has been served. There is no point to be made here.
