Why? You are weighed down anyway. What propels you forward are the flippers. Without them it's hard to swim along the top of the ocean

I remember when we went diving in Mexico off the Isla de las Mujeres, we walked backwards into the sea and then submerged when the water came chest-high. Coming back, the same thing. I didn't swim on the surface at all. When I was diving off Quitay in Chile, we went out in a boat and fell backwards off the side. Again no surface swimming although I did vomit when I came back up as the sea was extremely rough.

Update. I got ill from swallowing too much piss and went deaf in one ear.

I'm fine now Had my ear surginged (sp). Not been back to swimming but not given up either. On hols soon will take up the baton there.
